The Raising of the Imperial Military

Let it be known to the peoples of the land and the world at large:

That an armed force of good men is to be raised to defend our fair land from the threat of invasion, and to enforce our policies and peaces throughout the world.

That the following regiments are to be raised:

1) Corgistan Rifles (Raised by Viscount Woofenstein of Corgi-on-Carpet)

2) Lapinshire Hussars (Raised by Lord and Lady Pudge)

3) Consort's Royal Cavalry (Raised by HRH Maxwell)

4) Emporer's Own Regiment of Foot (Raised by my person)

5) Bedistan Rifles (Raised by Duke Callahan of Wall)

That Rifle Regiments shall be composed of men of the line, recruited and trained in basic infantry tactics, armed with rifles, used for both defense of the homeland and foriegn expeditions.

That Hussars and Cavalry shall be composed of well-trained men, trained in horse-riding, sword-fighting, and basic cavalry tactics, armed with broadswords and pistols.

That a Regiment of foot shall be composed of men of the line expert in defence of our lands, and basic infantry tactics. They are to be armed with rifles and light cannon.

Decree Concerning Peerage

Let it be known before the peoples of the land and the world:

That the Peerage shall be composed of those ranked as such, in descending order of power and Precedence:

1) Duke/Duchess
2) Marquess
2) Viscount/Viscountess
3) Earl
4) Baron/Baroness

That any location within my sovereign borders may be determined for governance by the Peers.

That Peers shall be properly addressed as: (Title) (Surname) of (Location) , ie John Smith, Duke of London, is addressed as: Duke Smith of London, except for barons and earls, addressed simply as Lord/Lady (Surname).

That the peers may otherwise organize themselves into whatever administrative body they see fit, with the role of coordinating their regional governance and giving council to my governance.

That the following persons are to be admitted as associate citizens of the DPRC, so that they might become peers:

That the following persons are hereby admitted to the peerage:

2) Hughbert Mumbly-Pudge, Esquire , as Earl of Cadbury (area within the boundaries of his cage)
3) Sugar Mumbly-Pudge, Esquire, as Baroness of Cadbury
4) Hon. Joseph Olwell, as Marquess of Yorkshire (1 square inch of dog fur in Lower Bedistan)
5) Hon. Michael Callahan, as Duke of Wall (1 square inch of wall in Upper Bedistan)

That because of previous relation with the current Emporer, the following people are entitled to style themselves "Her Royal Highness", and sit as advisory peers alone.

An Edict

Let it be issued forth this 12th day of February, 2005, to all the peoples of the lands of Upper Bedistan, Lower Bedistan, the Lapine Soviet Socialist Republic, this grand and majestic computer desk and the adjoining land of Corgi-on-Carpet, and to all other interested peoples of the world:

The Republic of Upper Bedistan, Lower Bedistan, the Empire of Corgistan, the Lapinistan Soviet Socialist Republic, and the Demilitrized Zone of Corgi-on-Carpet do today decree their union.

That the union of these lands shall affect all matters of sovereignty and governance, bringing them all under the power of one supreme republic.

That the aformentioned supreme republic shall be called the "Democratic People's Republic of Corgistan", or DPRC.

That in addition to the lands of the DPRC, the DPRC does claim it's right to govern and serve the two ancient and venerable institutions of The People's Corgi, and this here blog.

That the DPRC shall be governed supremely by a Supreme People's Emporer, who shall be elected to a life term by the assembly of the whole of the subjects of the People's Emporer.

That all who previously held citizenship in the constituent republics of the DPRC shall be subjects of the DPRC.

That the subjects of the DPRC proper titles, and official address ex officio, shall be: (name), Esquire

That the Emporer's proper title shall be: His Royal and Majestic Highness, the Right-Noble Comrade (name), Lord and Emporer of all of the realms of the Democratic People's Republic of Corgistan, and Blogger-in-Chief.

That in official address address, the Emporer shall be refered to as: "Your Highness", or "Comrade", or "My Lord" in second person, "My Person" in first person, or "His Highness", "Our Comrade", or "Our Temporal Lord" in third person.

That all whom the Emporer so decrees shall be associate citizens of the DPRC. Associate citizens shall be able to serve in Offices of State, vote in said elections for such offices, and otherwise hold the rights and responsibilities of a subject of the DPRC, except for that they shall not be subject the the Emporer's supreme sovreignty in all affairs, unless otherwise decreed.

That the proper title, and official form of address, of associate citizens shall be: Hon. (name) .

That the official National Anthem of the DPRC shall be "Men of Harlech", with new verses composed to fit our grand nation, to be determined at a later time.

That to confer honours upon our citizens for proud and gallant statesmenship and service, and for the most effective governance of our varied lands, the DPRC does create the first Office of State, the peerage.

That the peerage shall be appointed by the Emporer, in varied ranks and for varied locations, all with the role of advising the Emporer and governing their lands within the Emporer's supreme remit.
